This new project provides for replacement of the CR 85, Montauk Highway Bridge in Oakdale; a 111 year old structure that carries approximately 17,000 vehicles over the Long Island Railroad, daily. The new bridge will provide the same roadway width and capacity as the existing bridge. This project was previously included within CP 5850, Rehabilitation of Various Bridges and Embankments, but has been separated for the purpose of tracking the federal aid that it is anticipated to receive. This project is included in the Suffolk County Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) fiscal years 2024-2026. As of October 13, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified.
