The services are for Decontamination and Decommission for Building 1475 at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) in Portsmouth, VA 23709-5000. All questions are due NLT 13 July 2023 by 5:00pm. Carefully read all instructions and attached documents. Fully complete and submit per instruction. The contractor will provide services to accomplish characterization, decontamination and decommissioning which will occur in potentially radiologically contaminated facilities. This involves removal of facility equipment and furnishings; asbestos remediation and asbestos cleanup; paint removal; machinery, electrical, piping, and ventilation system removal; industrial remediation of various non-hazardous and hazardous materials, such as PCBs, mercury, beryllium, and lead; lifting and handling of large contaminated equipment and structures; radiological release of decommissioned facility; control and packaging of radioactive material for shipment. Provide contractor services to accomplish the radiological release of the Effluent Space at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) Portsmouth, Virginia. No work will occur that modifies/affects/disturbs facility superstructure. 1.2 The scope defined herein does not include any requirements for the contractor to perform functions that fall within Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) areas of authority and responsibilities as defined with Navy Maries Corps Acquisition Regulation Supplement (NMCARS) Subpart 5201.61-90(c)(6).
