The City of Shaker Heights reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities in the bids received, and to accept any bid which they deem most favorable. The Engineer will decide all questions that may arise as to the quality and acceptability of the materials furnished, the work performed and the rate of progress. He will decide all questions that may arise as to interpretation of the plans, specifications and other contract documents. He will decide all questions as to the acceptable fulfillment of the contract on the part of the Contractor . SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work for this project generally consists of rekeying most of the door locksets at City Hall and its Annex building. The doors will be rekeyed by replacing the cylinder with a new cylinder that has been keyed to a new key system. The key system will be Grand-mastered and allow for submaster zones. The City Hall exterior doors have mortise cylinders which will be replaced with dummy cylinders. The Annex building's exterior door cylinders will be replaced with key system cylinders. The selected Grandmaster key system will provide improved security through the use of a Grand master, sub-masters and individual locksets keying. All existing conditions are to be surveyed and verified prior to the start of the project. The work shall include all tools, labor, material, equipment, transportation, supervision, disposal and expertise required to perform the work. The scope shall include any other items not specifically listed that are required to provide a complete rekeying as described herein. The Contractor is responsible for notifying the City of any discrepancies in the scope of work and that which is required for a complete and finished Project. Some of the interior door locksets have mortise cylinders and some have Key-InLever cylinders. The exterior doors have mortise cylinders which will be replaced with dummy cylinders. The City Hall Annex exterior door cylinders will be replaced with key system cylinders. The selected Grandmaster key system will provide improved security through the use of a Grand master, sub-masters and individual locksets keying. The contractor will need to provide all tools, materials and expertise necessary for the successful completion of this project. The scope of work for this project generally consists of rekeying most of the door locksets at City Hall and its Annex building.
