The work consists of work needed for a baseball field prior to the installation of synthetic surfacing. Work includes, excavation, drainage install and concrete curbing as well as other miscellaneous sitework to complete project as shown in the Drawings and Specifications. The synthetic surfacing will be done by another contractor. Questions will be received in writing only until on 12:00 PM of July 5, 2023. All questions concerning this project or those concerning bidding requirements should be directed to Peggy Motta in writing to pmotta@napervilleparks.org. Requirements for Performance and Bid Bonds 1. If a bid is accepted, a Labor & Material Payment Bond, payable to the Naperville Park District, for not less than one hundred (100%) percent of the contract amount will be required prior to beginning construction. A Performance Bond, payable to the Naperville Park District, for not less than one hundred (100%) percent of the contract amount will be required prior to beginning construction on all projects $50,000 or more, and may be required for projects $50,000 or less at the discretion of the Naperville Park District. Such bonds shall include the provision guaranteeing the faithful performance of the Prevailing Wage Act. The surety on the bond shall be a company that is licensed by the Department of Insurance authorizing it to execute surety bonds and the company shall have a financial strength rating of at least A- as rated by A.M. Best Company, Inc., Moody's Investors Service, Standard & Poor's Corporation, or a similar rating agency. 2. If a bid is accepted, the Contractor will be required to file a written substance abuse prevention program with the Owner for the prevention of substance abuse among its employees prior to the commencement of the work. Said program shall be available to the general public. Award of Contract It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded in July. The Park District reserves the right to reject any non- responsive or non-responsible Bids or to reject all bids and waive any informality or technicality in any Bid in the interest of the Park District.
