The City of Springfield Forestry Division is soliciting quotes to furnish and install permeable paving material around existing trees in tree wells. The tree wells are located at various locations along Main Street in Springfield within the North End and South End Neighborhoods. The project is supported by federal funding and is subject to special terms as conditions as described below. The City will choose a successful vendor to commence work by August 1, 2023 and work is expected to be completed by September 30, 2023. Project Funded: $116, 000.00 Submission Requirements A. Tree wells identified for installation with porous pavement will require preparation prior to installation of porous paving material. This includes excavation of soil around existing trees and newly planted trees to a minimum depth of 4 inches. Soil and other material removed from tree wells during excavation shall be disposed of by the contractor. Contract will be funded through CBDG funds and all HUD requirements apply. Responses to inquiries will be in the form of a numbered addendum to the specifications issued by the Office of Procurement and sent to all parties listed in the IFB file as Proposers(s) holding the IFB documents. Proposers should base responses only on the specifications including any addenda, which will become exhibits to the IFB document. The City, in its sole discretion, may decline to provide the information requested. Failure to acknowledge any addendum may cause rejection of an 1FB response as required by Massachusetts General Laws.
