This project will be bid and awarded in accordance with G.S143-128, G.S. 143-129. Work of the Project includes construction and renovation of the gymnasiums located at three elementary schools. All questions after that date/time shall be submitted to the Design Consultant at SfL+a Architects, 333 Fayetteville Street, Suite 225, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601 or via email to: mkick@sfla.biz. The bidder further proposes and agrees to commence work on a date to be specified in a written Notice to Proceed, estimated to be on or about August 7, 2023, and shall be substantially complete with the work in 182 days. The bidder also agrees to a Final Completion within 30 days from the date of the Certificate of Substantial Completion. 1. Cameron ES (CAM): Work of the Project includes renovation and improvements to the Cameron Elementary School Gymnasium; a 12,800 square foot building, one-story accessory spaces, slab on grade, masonry loadbearing structure with cavity wall construction with brick veneer exterior walls, CMU interior walls, steel roof joists, and single ply membrane roof. Interior finishes of painted CMU, painted GWB, acoustical tile ceilings, VCT floors, aluminum windows with insulated glass, hollow metal door frames and wood doors. Work of the Project also includes the removal of the existing boiler chimney and an addition of a wall mounted roof access ladder. Notable PME work to include an addition of a new unisex restroom and rooftop mechanical units. Minor mechanical and electrical scope of work to be completed in the cafeteria building. Refer to PME drawings for full scope of work. No new related site work to be included other than clean up from construction activities. Refer to the project construction documents for all reports and regulatory procedures. 2. Highfalls ES (HES): Work of the Project includes construction for improvements to the Highfalls Elementary School Gymnasium; a 9,365 square foot building, one-story accessory spaces, slab on grade, masonry loadbearing structure with cavity wall construction with brick veneer exterior walls, CMU interior walls, steel roof joists, and single ply membrane/asphalt shingle roofs. Interior finishes of painted GWB, new toilet partitions and aluminum windows with insulated glass. Work of the Project also includes the partial removal of the existing boiler chimney and chimney cap. Notable PME work to include an addition of new gymnasium BARD units and boiler pipes running to adjacent buildings be demolished/capped. Refer to PME drawings for full scope of work. No new related site work to be included other than clean up from construction activities. Refer to the project construction documents for all reports and regulatory procedures. 3. Westmoore ES (WES): Work of the Project includes construction for improvements to the Westmoore Elementary School Gymnasium; a 11,739 square foot building, one-story accessory spaces, slab on grade, masonry load-bearing structure with cavity wall construction with brick veneer exterior walls, CMU interior walls, steel roof joists, and single ply membrane/asphalt shingle roofs. Interior finishes of new toilet partitions and aluminum windows with insulated glass. Work of the Project also includes the partial removal of the existing boiler chimney and chimney cap.
