Contract No. C31885 FEMA Project No. 106273 Project Description: The project proposes to construct a retaining wall along the road embankment. The retaining wall will be approximately 8-foot high and 100-foot long along the downslope side of the roadway. Relatively closely spaced piers (CIDH piles) are approximately 20 feet deep will transfer lateral soil loads to deeper and stronger materials, improving stability of the adjacent roadway. The 18 inch damaged CMP will be removed and replaced with a new 30' in length, 24 inch RCP with two inlet structures. Concrete roadside ditch will be installed on both sides of the road. Rock slope protection will be provided at the culvert outlet. The project will also include reconstruction of approximately 250' of road and include safety features such as guardrail and signing and stripping. Project Location: The project site is located about 350 feet south of the intersection of Moscow Road on Freezeout Road PM 11.38. The existing rural roadway is narrow (approximately 12.0 feet asphalt-paved width) with graveled shoulders in the vicinity of the landslide. The posted speed limit is 20 mph.
