Cost Estimate: $400,000-$425,000 The general scope of work includes removal of the playground equipment and surfacing, base preparation, new concrete slabs and walks, new rubber play surfacing and new playground equipment, and other items as specified for a complete and working installation The Contractor agrees that time is of the essence in the completion of the work required by this Contract, for which completion is established on or before Ninety ( 90 ) calendar days, following receipt of the "Notice to Proceed" and Contractor hereby waives any notice putting in default for failure to complete on time. Liquidated Damages. It is agreed that for every calendar day that the contract exceeds Ninety ( 90 ) calendar days, the Contractor will be assessed a deduction against the Contract amount at $100.00 per calendar day, as a liquidated damage fee and not as a penalty. Extensions may be granted by the Authority, as outlined in the General Conditions. a) General Construction i) Please see the attached plans and technical specifications to determine the full scope of work. ii) The general scope includes (1) demolition of the (3) existing playgrounds at these two sites. This includes the equipment, borders and surfacing. (2) Preparation and compaction of the subgrade. (3) Placement of new concrete playground bases at each site. (4) Installation of new playground equipment and play surfacing as selected by the Owner. 2023 CFP Playground Modernizations at the 49-02 Sites, for the Iola H.A. Page 2 of 2 (5) New sidewalks, benches and site improvements as noted (6) Yard repairs, finish grading and seeding of damaged areas in the work zone. iii) The Contractor is responsible for daily cleanup of the work areas, and for hauling these items off for disposal off site. iv) After the original contract has been awarded, additional work may be identified by the Owner and the successful contractor. Additional work will be done by a change order. v) All work shall be completed in compliance with these contract documents vi) Weekly certified payroll reports (CPR's) shall be completed and submitted to the Owner for review.
