The City of Santa Barbara reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, or to accept any bid or any part thereof, or to waive any informality in any bid, deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Santa Barbara Contractor must possess a valid California A-General Engineering - OR - C-32 Parking and Highway Improvement contractor's license at the time their bid is submitted. Bidders must indicate their Contractor's license number, classification and expiration date on their bid In accordance with the provisions of Labor Code 1773.2, the Contractor is responsible for determining the correct prevailing wage rates. However, the City will provide wage information for projects subject to Federal Davis Bacon requirements. The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rates of wages and employer payments for health, welfare, vacation, pensions and similar purposes applicable, which is on file in the State of California Office of Industrial Relations. The contractor shall post a copy of these prevailing wage rates at the site of the project. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and its subcontractors hired to pay not less than the said prevailing rates of wages to all workers employed by him in the execution of the contract The City of Santa Barbara Street Operations and Infrastructure Division has an established asphalt paving program. The type of work the division will be performing is full-width overlays replacing the existing pavement, and point repairs in the roadways that require hand patching. The contractor will be responsible for applying the tack coat emulsion using a spreader truck to the existing pavement in preparation of the full width overlay of point repair. The surfaces may range from a base layer, milled pavement, and a clean asphalt or concrete surface. Bidders are hereby notified that a Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the bid total will be required from the successful bidder for bids exceeding $25,000. The bond must be provided within 10 calendar days from notice of award and prior to the performance of any work.
