The City of Salem, Virginia, is requesting sealed bids from qualified bidders to construct a 69 kV transmission line with an existing 12 kV distribution under-build. The transmission line is being constructed to relocate an existing transmission line going down Indiana Street. ANY QUESTIONS CONCERNING THIS INVITATION TO BID (ITB) SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO MICHELLE BRAXTON, PURCHASING MANAGER AT (540) 375-3063 OR BY EMAIL AT LMBRAXTON@SALEMVA.GOV. Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee which shall be not less than five percent (5%) of the largest amount of which Bid is made and, at the option of the Bidder, may be a certified check, bank draft, or bid bond. No bid will be considered unless it is so guaranteed. Certified check or bank draft shall be made payable to the City of Salem. Cash deposits will not be accepted. The bid guarantee shall insure the execution of the contract and the furnishing of performance and payment bonds by the Successful Bidder if required by the specifications. The installation of approximately 2300 ft., per phase, of 556 26/7 and an additional 2300 ft. of 4/0 for the static wire. This includes, but is not limited to, re-sagging existing distribution to correspond to the installed transmission line.
