The Town of Thomaston proposes to make renovations and site improvements to Seth Thomas Park located at the intersections of South Main Street (State Route 6), Elm Street, and Maple Street in Thomaston, Connecticut. The work includes the construction of a hardscape plaza, four-car bituminous parking lot, concrete aprons, concrete sidewalk and curbing, stone dust walking paths, and utility connections. Site furnishings include site lighting, benches, bike racks, water fountains, tables and chairs, and trash receptacles. New landscaping with an irrigation system will also be provided. All bidder questions are due by 4 PM on Friday, June 16 th 2023. Responses to all bidder questions will be compiled and issued as Addendum #1 on Thursday, June 22 nd 2023. Funding provided by Urban Act grants administered by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). This contract is subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. Bids shall be a lump sum and unit price basis for a base bid and add alternates as indicated on the Bid Form. Submit with bids all required forms provided in the Bid Documents. Bidding Documents may be examined at the Thomaston First Selectman's office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Thursday, and 9:00- 11:00 a.m. Friday, legal holidays excluded. Bid deposit in the form of a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the maximum total amount of the Bid and made payable to the Town of Thomaston, Connecticut. Performance and Payment Bonds, in the full amount of the Contract price, will be required of the Successful Bidder. No Bid may be withdrawn within 30 days after the date of the opening of Bids. Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids, or to accept any Bid which in their opinion, is in the public interest to do so.
