Scope of work consists of the design, construction, start-up, acceptance testing and operator training for a complete upgrade of a processing system for single stream recycling at the Citys Material Recovery Facility (MRF) located at 4101 N Bentsen Rd, McAllen, TX 78504. The City is seeking Proposals for multiple options to upgrade its equipment so that it can make a decision based on the cost of upgrades relative to the return on investment for the City. Nothing in this act, however, shall be construed to prohibit the payment to any laborer, workman or mechanic employed on any public work as aforesaid of more than the said general prevailing rate of wages. An electronic copy of your Bond from a reliable surety company licensed to operate in the State of Texas or certified Cashiers Check, (Proposal Security) payable without recourse to the City of McAllen, for the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total Proposal price shall be submitted as a guaranty that if awarded the contract, the Respondent will enter into a contract with the City of McAllen.The successful contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Amount, within ten (10) working days from issuance of the Letter of Award. The City of McAllen reserves the right to waive or make exceptions to any part of these specifications when in the best interest of the City of McAllen.
