Work generally includes the installation of approximately 4,000 LF of 6-inch water line, including boring under a Union Pacific Railroad, connection to an existing elevated storage tank and to a new groundwater supply well (separate contract), electrical equipment for groundwater well (well drilling is a separate contract), SCADA connection to existing pump station, chlorine shed and injection vaults, and site civil work. Certified/cashier's check or acceptable bidder's bonds, payment without recourse to owner in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of total bid submitted must accompany bid. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities and technicalities. The successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds each in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%)of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the state of texas, to act as surety and be acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of authority from the secretary of treasury of the united states, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the owner. Bidders are expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform themselves regarding local conditions under which the work is to be done. Attention is called to the provisions of the acts of the 43rd legislature of the state of Texas and sub sequentamendments concerning the wage scale and payment of prevailing wages specified. The prevailing wage rate will be as established by the latest applicable Davis bacon wage rates included in the contract documents. City of Chico reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any and all informalities, and to disregard all nonconforming or conditional bids or counter bids, and to accept the bid that will be in the best interest of city of Chico.The owner reserves the rights to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities. In case of am biguity or lack of clearness in stating the price in the bids, the owner reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject the bid. Unreasonable or unbalanced unit prices will be considered sufficient cause of rejection of any biddor bids. Only original signatures will be accepted.
