City of Pleasant Grove, Alabama ("City") is hereby issuing a Request for Bids ("RFB") for the construction repair work on its Fitness Center (South of City Hall). The work of constructing said improvements will be let under one contract. Principal items of work are as follows: Building 4: Fitness Center (South of City Hall): Tear out paneling, front entrance doors, carpet, kitchen, and existing light fixtures. Install entrance twin doors, metal or fiberglass - outward opening, glazed Install combination style exterior lock Refinish and seal concrete floor Install basic cabinetry / countertops in kitchen. Install farmhouse style kitchen sink Install small water heater adequate for kitchen / bathroom sink Remove and replace existing toilet and bathroom sink with ADA compliant toilet and handrail, bathroom sink, and fixtures Prep and paint complete interior of building (ceiling, walls, and trim). Install (6) LED flush mount 1' x 4' ceiling light fixtures. Replace (2) front windows with Low-E, vinyl windows Block -in all rear and side windows with concrete block Seal interior fireplace opening Blow in a minimum of R-30 attic insulation Remove and cap old gas ceiling mounted heaters Remove existing HVAC unit and seal with concrete block Install mini-split HVAC with adequate for square footage Install LED light fixtures in auxiliary rooms Update electrical where necessary Prep and paint exterior Install 6' seamless aluminum gutters across rear of building. No bids will be accepted for any reason whatsoever which are not received by the time and at the place specified herein.All bids must be in compliance with the applicable laws of the State of Alabama. The City reserves the right to waive any formality in any bid, and to reject any or all bids and to make an award in any manner, consistent with applicable law,deemed in the best interest of the City. The City also reserves the right not to enter into any contract as a result of this RFB.A bid bond or certified check must accompany the proposal in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of bid.
