Project Identification: Gerald R. Ford International Airport - Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Facility. 1. Project Location: 4223 Cassard Lane, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49512. D. Project Description: Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Facility totaling approximately 25,000sf. The new facility will be constructed on an undeveloped site adjacent to the existing Airport Operations Center. Construction will primarily occur on the non-secure (landside) of the airport perimeter secure fence. Sitework will be also required on the secure (airside) of the airport perimeter secure fence. Refer to the Project Manual Section 011200 Special Project Procedures for additional information. E. Construction Contract: Bids will be received as a lump sum under a General Contractor for all trades. F. Project Funding: This work is funded in part by the Federal Aviation Administration, Federal regulations related to the use of federal funding will be incorporated into the contract. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time; refer to Section 00 31 13 Preliminary Schedules. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder.
