Estimated Cost Range: $1,375,000 - $1,678,000 Del Valle Dam Outlet Structure Bulkhead Installation, Removal, and Storage Rack Construction, Alameda County *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Contractor License Classification for work: A The general scope of bid item work includes: 1. Inspection of Department-furnished bulkhead gate. 2. Refurbishment of Department-furnished bulkhead gate, including the replacement of rubber "J" seals and hydraulic lines and valves. 3. Installation of Department-furnished bulkhead gate using underwater diving services. 4. Dewatering of Flood Control Outlet Works Tunnel and Stilling Basin for inspection and necessary repairs, in accordance with Section 02240 - Dewatering. The Contractor shall provide temporary scaffolding for personnel access within the Stilling Basin. 5. Installation of flap gate in Stilling Basin and slide gate within Seepage Vault. 6. Fabrication and installation of miscellaneous metal walkway and ladders within Spillway Tunnel. 7. Removal of Department-furnished bulkhead gate. 8. Bulkhead storage rack fabrication. 9. Construction of reinforced concrete pad and fabrication and installation of storage rack and cover. B. The general scope of Section 02200- Time and Materials work will be performed after dewatering of the Flood Control Outlet Works Tunnel and Stilling Basin, and includes: 1. Crack and spall repair inside Flood Control Outlet Works Tunnel and Stilling Basin. 2. Application of coatings to bulkhead gate. 3. Application of coatings to Flood Control Outlet Works Tunnel slide gates. 4. Replacement of gate anodes (Department-furnished). C. Section 02200 - Time and Materials extent of the project will be as determined by the Engineer, and the actual amount of work required will be only as directed. No guarantee is made that the work shown or specified in the contract will be needed or directed. D. Provide underwater diving services of two certified diving crews for performing underwater construction work. Such diving operations shall comply with Section 01351 - Diving Provisions, for all diving procedures during all phases of construction. 1. All dives in the California Aqueduct shall comply with Department's dive policy at the time of submittal. All diving shall be coordinated through the Engineer for clearance and scheduling requirements. The Dive Request must be approved by the Engineer before dive activities can commence. E. Work area is considered as a permit-required confined space. Contractor shall comply with Title 8, CCR, 5157 for Permit-Required Confined Spaces. Contractor shall provide safety personnel for monitoring and emergency preparedness. Contractor shall also provide on-site rescue staff at all confined space access points, and all required on-site safety rescue equipment. See Section 01155 - Site-Specific Safety Requirements for requirements pertaining to Permit Required Confined Space Entry.
