The bridge is on TR 92 / Kings Hill Road over CSX Railroad in SW 1/4 of Section 8, Township 3N, Range 12W, 2nd P.M. in Bridgeport Road District. The bridge is three-span steel Warren Pony Truss bridge with a one lane timber deck with timber runners. The existing structure is 120.0' long bk-bk of abutments and 20.3' feet wide o-o deck. The bridge is proposed to be demolished and replaced. The bridge is on the IL Historic Bridge list and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Whereas this project is funded in part by the Federal Highway Administration and pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 144(g), any state which proposes to demolish a NRHP eligible listed bridge and asks for federal participation in funding the project shall first make the bridge available for donation to a state, local or responsible entity who shall maintain the bridge and its features that give it historic significance. The entity must also assume all future legal responsibility for the structure, which may include an agreement to hold Lawrence County, Bridgeport Road District, and IDOT harmless in any liability action. This bridge can be obtained by government entities, historical or civic groups, or private citizens, free of charge. The cost to remove the bridge or any of its parts is borne by the party obtaining the bridge.
