UMC wishes to upgrade the existing fiberoptic backbone of the organization to support the current and future data needs of the hospital and its many connected services. As UMC moves into the future of connected medical devices and cloud computing, the current infrastructure will fall short of the required throughput. A project to upgrade and future-proof the aging infrastructure is required to continue to provide high-quality care for our patients. UMC's existing fiber infrastructure consists of multi-mode fiber originating in the hospital's data center and branching out to the facilities' MDFs. Each MDF feeds its respective IDFs where connectivity is further distributed. The purpose of the project is to install new single-mode fiberoptic cable along the same pathways as the existing infrastructure improving network capabilities and throughput for future upgrades. T
