The state reserves the right to reject any bid if this certification is subsequently determined to be false and to terminate any contract awarded based on such a false response. DUE TO THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SCHEDULE, LIQUIDATED DAMAGES IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) PER DAY WILL BE ASSESSED FOR EVERY CALENDAR DAY THAT THIS PROJECT IS NOT COMPLETE BEYOND THREE HUNDRE SIXTY (360) DAYS OF THE NOTICE TO PROCEED. Contractors or contracting firms submitting bids in the amount of $50,000.00 or more shall certify that they are licensed contractors under Chapter 24 of Title 37 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes 1950 and show their license number on the front of the sealed envelope in which their bid is enclosed in the subject line of the email submission. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under L.A. R.S. 37:2150-2163 in the following classification: BUILDING CONSTRUCTION. Bids in the amount of $50,000.00 or more, not submitted in accordance with this requirement, shall be rejected and shall not be read. Additional information relative to licensing may be obtained from the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The project consists of labor, materials, and all work to buildout a Primate Research Lab in a space on the second floor of an existing building. The existing space has the majority of walls, ceilings lights removed in preparation for this renovation. The renovation will include 6,545 square feet of space in Building 27 on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette New Iberia Research Center Campus. Each bidder MUST accompany his/her proposal with a bid security for five percent (5%) of the total maximum amount of his/her bid. The bid security shall be drawn in favor of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and SHALL be in the form of a Bid Bond (Insurance Company), Bank Money Order*, Certified Check* or Cashier's Check Successful bidder WILL BE required to execute and deliver within ten (10) days of notification, a satisfactory performance bond and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price Also, to be provided at the same time is a Labor and Materials payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount.
