The County welcomes any walk-in freezer manufacturer as long as the proposed bid is for a complete turn-key solution which includes installation and concrete pad. One (1) 36 in. x 78 in. walk-in exterior door with door heater, strip curtain, and kickplate. Unit must be equipped with an outside emergency (red) light with an internal monitor that will turn on the light should the interior temperature exceed 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Outdoor roof membrane shall be made of white aluminum exterior, to reflect the sun. Normal-usage Floor: Floor panels shall be placed on the concrete pad and leveled. Where inside floor and outside platform must be level, the concrete pad shall be made with a depression deep enough to receive the walk-in freezer floor panels. Floor Panel Finish: 16 ga. Stainless steel or .080 Rigidized Aluminum Trenton "Brand Name or Equal" weather proof Scroll Compressor condenser matched to Trenton "Brand Name or Equal" R404-A evaporator with temperature controls. Concrete Pad: Installation shall include construction of a concrete pad with stainless hurricane anchors, construction and mounting the box, installation and startup of the refrigeration system, control wiring, condensate drains, high voltage wiring to disconnect within 6 feet of condenser. At least four feet of concrete must be poured in front of the freezer with a tapered edge to allow for hand trucks to be utilized to load and off load product. Contractor to design and build a thermal break under concrete pad to prevent condensation and cracking. Williamsburg County requires that at least two or three 2" PVC pipes equally spaced apart be laid just under the slab of the freezer and run the width of the freezer to increase air circulation under the slab and reduce "wicking" that occurs when moisture is drawn from the ground through the concrete and also to prevent possible cracking of the concrete floor. The pipes will need to be elbowed at angles and have a vent cap on them. Before the deadline for questions, Contractors may suggest an alternate way to prevent concrete cracking for the County's review and approval. Responses will then be issued by addendum for all bidders to view. ALTERNATE #1: The County is requesting an alternate #1 for the additional amount to the base bid for a reinforced floor in lieu of normal-usage floor. See below for specifications for the reinforced floor alternate #1 item.
