The Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PhilaPort) will be issuing a solicitation in the near future for Project #23-026.1-Design Build Temperature Controlled Warehouse. HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW OF THE END PRODUCT: PhilaPort is planning on utilizing a design-build contract for building a temperature-controlled warehouse for storage of refrigerated and frozen goods to be located in South Philadelphia at 3rd Street and Pattison Avenue. The warehouse is proposed to be approximately 175,000 square feet situated adjacent to a dry warehouse (completed in May 2022). The temperature-controlled warehouse is proposed to consist of freezer rooms, and refrigerated rooms with future plans to outfit the warehouse with an automated pallet retrieval and storage racking system to be installed after project completion. The building will have a stepped roof ranging from approximately 30 feet high (loading docks) to approximately 74 feet high (freezer rooms). o Anticipated bidding timeframe: PhilaPort estimates issuance of an RFP in early Q2 of 2023 o Estimated Project Size (Warehouse size): ~175,000 SF o List of labor trades involved in project: PhilaPort anticipates a wide variety of labor trade involvement in this project and encourages all trades to participate The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. Deadline to Submit Questions (via Procurement@philaport.com) Friday, July 7, 2023, at 12:00 P. M. Extend the Deadline to Issue Potential Proposer Answers from Friday, July 21, 2023, until Friday, July 28, 2023.
