The T-57 project includes the design and construction of a pedestrian bridge on SR 169 in the vicinity of SE 258th Street.SR 169, a classified State Highway of Significance, has developed from a rural highway to a freight and commuter highway, serving 25,000 vehicles per day. The pedestrian bridge would be designed to connect communities east and west of SR 169. It would serve as a gateway into the City’s future downtown development and Legacy Site public amenities, the King County Regional Cedar to Green River Trail, and the Maple Valley Farmers’ Market. It would connect parking lots on the Legacy Site and Rock Creek Elementary School as well as reduce the SR 169 traffic flow during event days by encouraging nonmotorized access from adjacent neighborhood.The project is included in the state Move Ahead Washington Bill to receive $5M funding. Fiscal Year: 2023-2028 *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
