Award amount is $2,096,713.13.** The purpose of this bid package is to provide the County of Ocean with a contractor(s) who has the ability to successfully complete the tasks required as set forth in the specifications of this project: Improvements to Castlebuono Avenue from Hooper Avenue to Salerno Drive, Toms River Township. The work to be performed under this Contract consists of the construction of a new roadway within the existing Castlebuono Avenue right-of-way between Hooper Avenue and Salerno Drive in Toms River Township. The new roadway will replace the existing jughandle at the intersection of Hooper Avenue and Caudina Avenue and also provide access to the new VA Hospital to the north and the Social Services Building to the south. Included in this Contract is the construction of a Sheet Pile wall and Landscape Retaining wall; the installation of drainage pipe, headwalls, inlets, manholes, and manufactured treatment devices; the construction of concrete curb, concrete sidewalk, and ADA compliant curb ramps; the installation of Beam Guide Rail and End Terminals; and the installation of traffic stripes and markings. Each bid must be accompanied by a Non-Collusion Certificate and by a guarantee in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total sum bid, provided such guarantee shall be for no more than twenty thousand ($20,000.00) dollars. The guarantee may be in one of the following forms: cashier's check, certified check or Proposal Bond, or eBond through Surety2000. The guarantee shall be payable to County of Ocean. In the event that a cashier's check or certified check is used, evidence of ability to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in accordance with Subsection 151.03.01 must also accompany each bid; the usual form of Proposal Bond letter from a recognized Bonding Company will be acceptable.
