Question Submission Deadline: July 18, 2023, 2:00pm Work under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1.Removal of all variable refrigerant flow (VRF) HVAC systems and associated air systems including but not limited to equipment, refrigerant piping, ductwork,power, controls, capping of abandoned rooftop equipment curbs, repair of roof system relating to said equipment removal. Removal not to occur until such time new HVAC equipment is operational. 2. Removal of existing rooftop outside air units (OAU) and associated ductwork, power, piping, rooftop ductwork and supports, and repair of roof system relating to removal of said equipment. Removal not to occur until such time new HVAC equipment is operational. 2. Furnishing and installation of new wall mounted packaged heat pump units, power and controls. 3. Furnishing and installation of new rooftop mounted heat pump unit and associated ductwork, controls, power, roof adaptation, structural framing support, and roof repairs. 4. Furnishing and installation of new toilet exhaust fans with roof hoods. Installation will required cutting of openings in existing roof deck and sealing of roof penetration per existing roof manufacturer's published standard details. 5. Preparation of openings in the exterior walls to facilitate installation of new wall mounted packaged heat pump units. These openings will made weather tight until the delivery and installation of new equipment. 6. Erection of temporary fences, barricades, and other safety measures, as necessary, to protect school staff, visitors, and the public from the work and materials storage areas. 7. Identify and notify the Owner of all furnishing and wall mounted equipment that requires relocation to install wall hung HVAC units. The Owner will make provisions to move those items. 8. For the work to be completed in the required time frame, demolition and sealing of openings for the new wall mounted units will of necessity precede the delivery and installation of the units. Installation of individual unit may need to be spread out over the school year using weekends, after school hours, and school breaks. Demolition of the existing VRF and OAU system will be required to be completed during the schools 2024 summer break. 9. At the conclusion of work, clean building to preconstruction condition. 10. Repair any existing construction damaged during the course of the work, including landscaping, lawn, sidewalks, and interior finishes shall be restored to preconstruction condition. Each contractor must be required to compute the wages of every mechanic and laborer on the basis of a standard work week of 40 hours. Contractor shall obtain and pay cost of permits and licenses necessary for completion of this work. The City of Murfreesboro in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 41 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 hereby notifies all proposers that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises ("DBE's") will be afforded full opportunity to submit proposals in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, creed, color, sex, national origin, or handicap in consideration for an award. SCOPE OF WORK IS LIMITED TO REPLACING EXISTING HVAC SYSTEMS WITH NEW HVAC SYSTEMS. FIRE RATED CONSTRUCTION WILL ONLY BE DISTURBED AT ONE LOCATION WHERE AN EXISTING GAS LINE CURRENTLY PENETRATING AT 2 HOUR RATED WALL IS TO BE REMOVED. THE ABANDONED PENETRATION WILL BE FILLED WITH UL ASSEMBLY C-AJ-0090 AS SHOWN ON DRAWING A2.1 .
