Here's what White Stadium will look like for women's pro soccer The partners behind Boston's new professional women’s soccer team have formally filed their plans to renovate Franklin Park's White Stadium with the Boston Planning and Development Agency, Greg Ryan reports. ------------------------------- As of October 26,, 2023, this project is in the programming phase. Further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, construction is anticipated for July 2024. A detailed scope has not been released. The City of Boston announced a request for proposals on Tuesday for a private entity to lease and fund the renovation of one half of the run-down but still heavily used stadium, with the city funding reconstruction of the other half, plus new training and fitness areas, physical therapy facilities, locker rooms, community space, and offices for the BPS Athletics Department. Ensuring it has a viable stadium to play in is a crucial hurdle the “Boston Unity” group has to clear in order to get a nod from the NWSL. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
