Dorchester School District Two is soliciting bids from qualified vendors for the replacement of HVAC equipment and lighting fixtures as identified in the Technical Specifications for Knightsville Elementary School in Summerville, SC Questions regarding this solicitation must be directed to Chris Constantine, PE, in writing via email at cconstantine@thecenteam.com no later than 12:00 PM on Thursday September 28th. All resulting addenda will be issued by 12:00 PM on Tuesday October 3rd. Substantial Completion - July 31st, 2024 It is critical that the successful Bidder recognize that time is of the essence in completing the project. The successful Bidder agrees that, if the work, or any part thereof, is not completed within the time agreed upon in a contract resulting from this IFB (or any extension thereof), the successful Bidder and its surety shall be liable to the District, in the amount of Seven-Hundred Fifty Dollars ($750.00) per day for each and every calendar day Substantial Completion (as defined in the contract) is delayed beyond the contract time. This daily rate is a liquidated damage in lieu of actual damages and is not a penalty for late completion. The District, or its assignee, shall have the right to deduct from and retain out of monies which may be then due or which may become due and payable to the successful Bidder, the amount of such liquidated damages; and if the amount so retained by the District, or its assignee, is not sufficient to pay in full such liquidated damages, the Bidder shall pay to the District, or its assignee, the amount necessary to effect payment in full of such liquidated damages. Thirty (30) days are allotted for completion of punch list items following Substantial Completion.
