The City reserves the right, but not the obligation, to revise any insurance requirement not limited to limits, coverages and endorsements, or reject any insurance policies which fail to meet the criteria stated herein. Additionally, the City reserves the right, but not the obligation, to review and reject any insurer providing coverage due of its poor financial condition or failure to operate legally. The General Contractor shall furnish or cause to be furnished, and shall pay for out of the Contract Price: all management, supervision, financing, goods, products, materials, equipment, systems, labor, services, permits, licenses, construction machinery, water, heat, utilities, transportation and other facilities necessary for proper execution and completion of its scope of the Work, in accordance with all of the terms and conditions of this Contract for Construction. Provide all labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, supplies, incidentals, and other ancillary items necessary, as identified in these Contract Documents, to complete ditch grading and culvert clearing at all locations specified, during the life of this contract. Surveying the grade, to ensure that proper grading is achieved, is required at all locations. This contract includes cleaning out of driveway culvert pipes, not to exceed 12 ft. in length. All excavated dirt/material shall be removed in its entirety from the City of Poquoson Right of Way, unless otherwise directed by the City Engineer or Public Works Director. It is the contractor’s responsibility to survey the grade to ensure the proper flow path. It is expected that the contractor shall complete all areas requested and maintain the slope of the ditches, as well as thoroughly clean the culverts. An inspection of the work will be completed, to ensure that the work is to the standard of this contract. This work will require proper Maintenance of Traffic that must be submitted to the Engineering Department for approval prior to the beginning of any work. Please see the Construction Document section for additional information and specifications. Excavate and remove excess material from ditches and from around fixtures within the limits of the excavation. Clear all driveway culverts of debris as listed in the attachment. Dispose of excess material in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain ditch drainage during cleaning and reshaping work. All ditches shall remain their original profile while grading Period of Contract: One (1) year from the date of award. With a (1) year optional renewal Each bid in excess of $100,000 submitted in response to this IFB shall be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total monetary amount of the bid (total base bid plus all additive bid items). The bid guarantee may be either (i) a certified or cashier’s check made payable to “The City of Poquoson, Virginia,” or (ii) a bid bond made payable to The City of Poquoson, Virginia.” The bid guarantee shall be for the purpose of promising and guaranteeing that the bidder will not withdraw its bid for a period of 30 days following bid opening The General Contractor shall be required to provide payment and performance bonds in the full amount of the Contract.
