The project involves repairing deteriorated storm sewer infrastructure and protecting sanitary sewer infrastructure through installation of countermeasures along an impaired overland drainage channel at the location shown in the plans. Work includes removing an existing end section and timber retaining wall and installing new sections of reinforced concrete pipe, apron, and outlet protection. Work also includes installation of fabric formed concrete revetment armor units or grout mats along the channel. Excavation and site work necessary to perform this work including erosion controls, clearing and grubbing, surface restoration and other related work are also included. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of four (4) years from the time of acceptance by the City. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by November 22, 2023. Liquidated damages in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all technicalities and/or all irregularities.
