General Contractors for Joint Caledonia School (Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board and Grand Erie District School Board). The Board wishes to prequalify Contractors interested in acting as General Contractor for the Joint Caledonia Elementary School at the intersection of MacLachlan Avenue and Whithorn Crescent, Caledonia, Ontario. Only Contractors that have been prequalified by the Board will be invited to submit a bid for the project. The Board reserves the right to limit the number of Contractors prequalified as part of this process. Contractors who have been previously prequalified or who are currently performing work for the Board must also respond to this request. Contractors that do not participate in this prequalification process will be excluded from bidding on the project. The most qualified Contractors resulting from this prequalification, up to a maximum of eight (8) Contractors, will be invited to participate in the second-stage [RFx] process in accordance with Part 4 - Evaluation. The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board, together with the Grand Erie District School Board are currently in the design phase of a new school facility comprised of two separate elementary schools (one for each school board) and a Child Care Centre consolidated into one single building, located in Caledonia, Ontario. The scope of work associated with the project is generally described as follows: 1. The total facility size is to be approximately 76,000 sq ft in total area comprised of the following elements: 2. The Board facility will be home to approximately 305 students; 3. The GEDSB facility will be home to approximately 441 students as well as a Child Care Centre; 4. The school facility will include shared spaces such as the gymnasium, change rooms and library; 5. Car Parking areas, access ways and outdoor amenities serving the facility; 6. Landscape areas include playgrounds, open space recreation areas, walkways, fencing, lighting; and 7. Storm Water Management and associated on-site storm water storage. TIMELINE: Five (5) firms have prequalified for this project. As of October 13, 2023, the Stage II invited tender timeline to the prequalified firms has yet to be determined. RFQ documents stated the facility is expected to be operational by the end of August 2025 for the school occupancy in September 2025.
