Installation of Owner furnished 15kv power cables in existing raceway at the generation plant; terminating, phasing, and testing underground power cables installed by others; overhead line work shown on project drawings; installing grounding for electrical equipment; and related work using Owner furnished materials in Tipton, Iowa. The total estimated project cost is $1,500,000. The estimated cost of the Electric Construction - Labor Only is $150,000.00 Contract Time Information Start Date: January 1, 2024 Completion: December 1, 2024. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to ENGINEER in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by ENGINEER in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by ENGINEER as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Contractors may obtain a copy of the project documents by emailing the Owners representative: dcharles@shermco.com. All bids shall be made on proposal forms furnished in the project documents and shall be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check or bid bond, made payable to City of Tipton in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, which security becomes the property of Tipton in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract and post satisfactory performance and payment bonds. Payment to the Contractor will be made on the basis of ninety-five percent (95%) construction progress payments for work completed according to the schedule of values submitted by the Contractor with a five percent (5%) retention held. The total five percent (5%) retention held will be released at the completion of construction according to the Contract documents. Tipton reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject bids.
