A Class B and/or Class C10, Contractors License is required for this work. Work will be done and payments will be made in accordance with provisions more particularly described in the plans and specifications. The scope of work generally includes the trenching and installation of sports field lighting, service distribution equipment, conduits, boxes, and the surface restoration of existing improvements. Bids are required for the entire work described herein in accordance with the instructions to bidders. The Engineers Estimate is between $1,500,000 to $1,600,000. Bids must be accompanied by a Proposal guarantee amounting to ten (10%) percent of the bid as described in the specifications. Said guarantee shall be forfeited to the City in case the bidder depositing the same does not, within fifteen days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to him (1) enter into a contract with the City and (2) furnish Performance and Payment Bonds as described in the specifications. The City Council reserves the privilege of rejecting any and all proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any proposals or in the bidding. No bidder may withdraw his proposal for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the date set for opening of proposals. As a Public Works project and pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates for San Mateo County shall apply to this contract, as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. Bidders are directed to the Instructions for Bidders for additional contract requirements. Time of Completion and Liquidated Damages: All work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of One Hundred Fifty (150) Calendar Days from the date of receipt of the Notice to Proceed. If the Contractor fails to complete the work within the above-specified time limit, the Contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the City, computed at the rate of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) for each calendar day beyond the specified time limit until the project is completed. See the Special Provisions for additional time of completion milestone requirements *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
