The project consists of providing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the milling and paving of approximately 2,300 feet along Brickyard Road, from approximately fifty feet north of Wildwood Road to the Town of Avon Town Line. Work includes replacement of catch basins, storm drainage, milling, new bituminous curb, topsoil and turf establishment, pavement markings; and other work as described in the Contract Documents. Contractor shall be responsible for payment of not less than the State prevailing wage rates, as specified in the Contract Documents. Each BID shall be accompanied by a certified check, bid bond, treasurer's check or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank, trust or surety company made payable to the Town of Farmington in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Bidder's BID. Any addendum acknowledgment shall also be submitted with the bid. The Town of Farmington reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive any or all informalities or technical defects, and to award the contract to the bidder whose bid is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. This contract is subject to State of Connecticut set-aside and contract compliance requirements, including nondiscrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires that a minimum of twenty-five (25%) of the state-funded portion of the contract be set-aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate a good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. Facsimile and E-mailed bids will not be accepted.
