Construction of a new stand alone NG911 Back Up facility of post disaster construction located at 5 Lincoln St., Welland, ON. Niagara Regional Police Services provides 911 Dispatch services for the Region of Niagara. Currently, our Back-Up 911 centre is in a temporary location within our Three District facility located at 5 Lincoln St., Welland, ON. In conjunction with the new NextGen 911 CRTC telecommunication compliance upgrades, the Niagara Region is required to provide a permanent location for Niagara Regional Police Services 911 Back-Up. A stand-alone one (1) storey, post disaster facility (approx. 8,000 sq ft) will be constructed on the Three District Police Station site, 5 Lincoln St, Welland, ON. The site plan has been developed to accommodate the needs of the proposed 911 Back-Up Facility. TIMELINE: RFQ closed March 2, 2023; seven (7) firms prequalified. As of October 23, 2023, the Stage II tender to the prequalified firms has yet to be finalized; the tender will be posted on Niagara Region's "Bids and tenders" website. The estimated construction budget for the project, including site works and construction contingency is $7,300,000.00 (CAD).
