The work to be done under this Contract consists of reconstruction improvements to the southeastern shoreline of Little Fresh Pond. The Work includes, but is not limited to: 1. Removal and replacement of universally accessible flexible porous surfacing; 2. Removal and disposal of fencing; 3. Installation of a granite slab access ramp; 4. Installation of timber steps and curbs and concrete footings; 5. Stockpiling and resetting of existing boulders and placement of new boulders; 6. Installation of a 3' height timber and mesh fence. Install and secure construction fence, traffic management and detour signage. 2. Install erosion control measures as shown in the Drawings and as outlined in Section 01568, Erosion and Sediment Control. 3. Paving reconstruction including replacement of flexible porous surfacing, stone access ramp, timber curb and terraced timber steps and concrete footings. 4. Dewatering. 5. Landscape improvements including resetting existing and new retaining boulders, and replacement of timber and mesh fence. 6. Restoration and seeding of any disturbed areas as required. Nature and scope of work: The major components of this work include, but are not limited to: 1. The project area is located at the south end of Little Fresh Pond adjacent to Fresh Pond within Fresh Pond Reservation. Access is adjacent to the Walter J. Sullivan Water Treatment Facility off of Fresh Pond Parkway north of the Huron Avenue intersection. 2. Southeastern shoreline access reconstruction includes: a. Surface reconstruction for drainage and ADA compliance, including replacement of existing flexible porous surfacing (approx. 850-sf). b. Access reconstruction includes replacement of existing cedar steps with terraced black locust timber stairs with footings and a granite ramp. c. Timber and mesh fencing replacement (approx. 265-lf).
