This project includes excavation, grading, and paving of a new parking lot with installation of associated curbing, milling and paving of existing parking lot and driveway, removal of landscaped islands, and installation of paver islands, relocation of utility pole and appurtenances, construction of water quality basins, pavers, oil/water separator, associated storm drain pipes, landscaping and miscellaneous utility installations. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. To be qualified to bid, any prospective bidder must be appropriately prequalified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. Submitted bids by any entity not so prequalified may be rejected. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current small business enterprise (SBE) certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services, as further specified in the Bid Instructions and Information section of the bid documents. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. The anticipated state funding contribution for this project is $128,000. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive defects in same if it be deemed in the best interest of the Town of Simsbury.
