The work to be performed consists of furnishing all labor, tools, materials, equipment, transportation, and services required for the construction of the above described project as included in the Contract Documents; consisting of the following items of work: removal of approximately 12,500 SY of existing asphalt, regrading, installation of new road base as required, installation of new asphalt, replacement of monuments, and installation of new collars for all water valves and manholes, and appurtenant work; all in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications prepared by the North Salt Lake City Engineering Department. Complete asphalt replacement of upper Eaglewood Drive from Foxhill to Eagleridge Drive, approximately 12,500 SY. Asphalt to be 3.5" thick, may be place in one lift. Road must be paved in two phases (requiring milling on two separate dates). The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids presented or to waive any informality in a bid and to make award in the best interest of the City. OWNER reserves the right: to reject any and all Bids or any part thereof; to waive any informalities in the Bidding Documents and elsewhere; to negotiate and agree to contract terms with the successful Bidder; to disregard non-conforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids; and to withhold the award for any reason deemed in the best interests of the OWNER. Payroll costs shall include, but not be limited to, salaries and wages plus the cost of fringe benefits, which shall include social security contributions, unemployment, excise, and payroll taxes, workers compensation, health and retirement benefits, bonuses, sick leave, vacation and holiday pay applicable thereto. All bonds and insurance required by the Contract Documents to be purchased and maintained by Owner or Contractor shall be obtained from surety or insurance companies that are duly licensed or authorized in the jurisdiction in which the Project is located to issue bonds or insurance policies for the limits and coverages so required.
