Soule Playground is a 9.49-acre community park located on Hammond Street and includes the Town's Recreation Department pre-school. The site contains two large playgrounds, a splash pad, picnic areas, 2 athletic fields, a gym and abuts the Baldwin school property. The athletic fields on-site serve Town-run daycare programs, multi-age athletic leagues, camps, and residents of all ages and abilities. The circulation, parking and stormwater management of the site are in need of redesign and renovation. Funds will provide for design and construction for increased capacity and improvements to parking areas, the vehicular roadway, pathway connections, stairs and railings, site accessibility, storm drainage improvements, playground replacement, picnic areas, synthetic turf replacement and improvement to Robson Athletic Field (Upper Soule). As August 4, 2023, this project is currently in the FY 2024-2029 CIP. Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2024. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
