2021 Paving Program unless extended by written or oral notice of the change, given to the person who received or requested specifications, no later than 96 hours prior to the date and time fixed for such openings. PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK The Village of East Canton is seeking bids to repave Berger St. South & Wood St. South within the village. The paving of Berger St. South will be from the south edge of Nassau St. to the south village corporation limits. This part of the paving project will be considered the BASE BID portion of the project. The limits of this part of the paving will be marked with white marking paint by the Village Administrator of East Canton The paving of Wood St. South will be from the south edge of Walnut St. East to the south village corporation limits. This part of the paving project will be broken down into 2-parts and will be considered ALTERNATE #1 & ALTERNATE #2. Wood Street South ALTERNATE #1 will consist of the paving of Wood St. South from the south edge of Walnut St. to Church Street. The limits of this part of the paving project will be marked with white marking paint by the Village Administrator of East Canton. Wood Street South ALTERNATE #2 will consist of the paving of Wood St. South from Church St. to the south village corporation limits. The limits of this part of the paving project will be marked with white marking paint by the Village Administrator of East Canton. The Village of East Canton will not be responsible for full or partial sets of bidding documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Village of East Canton. Bids must be signed and submitted on the separate bidding forms and sealed in a properly identified envelope. The bid security shall be furnished in accordance with Instructions to Bidders. The Contractor shall be required to determine whether the minimum wage rates established by the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of Ohio apply to this project. No Bidder shall withdraw his Bid within 60 days after the actual opening thereof. The Village of East Canton reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive irregularities in any Bid, and to accept any Bid which is deemed by Village of East Canton to be most favorable to the Village of East Canton. A. Clean existing street surfaces with power broom. B. Insure all manhole covers, water, gas and survey lids are raised to be flush to the new surface. If not, contact Village of East Canton - Village Administrator Ed Collins at (330) 488-0360 or (330) 936-6094. C. Repair all ruts and depressions on road and edges, including berm/shoulder) using 301 or 448 hot mix asphalt D. Apply liquid tack coat at the rate of .100 gallon per square yard. E. Place 1.5" top course of #448 asphalt concrete over existing surface. F. Intersections and driveway aprons to be done during #448 top course application. Asphalt will be carried to a minimum of zero (0) feet into gravel drives and will be carried up to a maximum of three (3) feet into a drive to butt up to existing concrete or asphalt driveways. Removal of gravel at driveway to ensure proper elevation is contractor's responsibility (Final compacted surface of overlay = 1.5"). (NOTE: Concrete driveways with gravel apron shall be paved up to 8' +/- in depth). G. Item C is only minor repair of ruts and depressions (leveling) prior to resurfacing on all roads. H. Total square yards 1 1/2 " planning = 8,851 I. Village of East Canton to retain grindings
