The University of Utah, on behalf of the College of Architecture and Planning is seeking a qualified General Contractor to provide Construction Services for a new elevator in the Architecture Building #37 located at 375 South 1530 East Salt Lake City, UT 84112. Proposed work consists of Select Demolition, See EDA diagrams for potential Areas of Disturbance and proposed phased timeline. New 4 stop elevator, ADA ramp and interior finishes. Removal of existing ADA lift in Bailey Gallery and UIT Infrastructure for the College WIFI Network Systems Upgrade. GC to maximize the work completed prior to August 20 and completion of the ramp buildout in the Bailey by Labor Day. The impact of the ramp on the first floor is to be completed by Aug 13, 2021. User Group request minimizing noise during class time, but specifically avoid activities likely to produce loud noise on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons (2PM-5PM.), from August 23 thru November 18, 2021. Architecture Bldg 37 - Cap Elevator and TI Q & A deadline: Apr 28, 2021 6:00:00 PM EDT All requests for information shall be in writing and directed to the Architect: Sophia Malik, EDA Architects Phone: 801-531-7600 Email: smalik@edaarch.com Construction Constraints: -Occupied buildings -Contractors needs to work in a "COVID" safe manner according to Salt Lake City Health Department guidelines and University Requited Guidelines. -Loud, disruptive demolition noise must occur June 2021. This includes concrete saw cuts, elevator shaft, ramp, saw cut through beams for HVAC, etc. See attached Diagrams of Areas of Disturbance. This would need to be coordinated with the GC and is not a proposed construction timeline. -Please see EDA Proposed Phased Timeline- Abatement is to be coordinated between GC and Architect, schedule listed in timeline can be adjusted based on current procurement timeline. All contractors responding to this procurement process must comply with, and require all of their subcontractors to comply with, the license laws required by the State of Utah. The University of Utah reserves the right to reject any or all submittals or to waive any formality or technicality in any submittal in the interest of the University.
