PROJECT DESCRIPTION: C Street Enhancements Project - The project is located on C Street, from 6th Street on the west to Civic Drive on the east. The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment for the work which includes the following: Class 4 barrier-separated and Class 2 bike lanes Raised medians, curb ramps and sidewalk infill areas Roadway reconstruction and rehabilitation Drainage improvements Enhanced mid-block pedestrian flashing beacon warning system and signal modifications Street lighting including decorative light fixtures Landscaping (irrigation and planting) Placemaking and aesthetic elements including electronic messaging and monument signs Minor utility relocations Signage and striping Traffic control Water line replacement *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $5.6 to $5.8 Million TOTAL CONTRACT TIME 120 working days CONTRACTOR LICENSE REQUIRED: General Engineering Contractor, Class A The City of Galt has established the following goal for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation for this project: Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE): Twenty-One (21.0%) percent Written questions regarding this Invitation for Bids are to be emailed to City of Galt Public Works at ttrinh@cityofgalt.org by end of business day, 10 days prior to the bid opening date. All emails shall require verification of receipt by sender in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Each Bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a Bidder's Bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check, or cashier's check payable to the City of Galt, or cash. The amount of the bid security must be not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the City of Galt, and in conformance with the requirements set forth in the Contract Documents each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. This contract is subject to State contract non-discrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code Section 12990. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates in the county, or counties, in which the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, The City of Galt reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
