Solicitation no- 19130 GeoTechnologies Project No. 1-20-0408-EA The Project consists of the demolition of an existing 2,330 square-foot wood framed storage building and the construction of a new 3,760 square-foot one-story pre engineered metal building, cast-in-place concrete retaining wall, fire service line and new fire hydrant, landscaping, and other associated site work and utilities. The deadline to submit written questions to the Architect is 4:00PM local prevailing time on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Email questions to: paul@wscarchitects.com Bids are required to be submitted using a sealed two-envelope system. One envelope shall include the Contractor's Form of Bid Bond and should be clearly labeled "Bid Bond". The second envelope containing all other required Bid Documents (refer to Bid Submittal Checklist included in the Project Manual) should be clearly labeled "Bid Forms". A separate performance bond and payment bond, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the Contract price, will be required from the successful lowest responsive, responsible bidder after notice of award, and for execution of contract. Carriers must be authorized to do business in the state of North Carolina. No bid may be withdrawn for ninety (90) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Each Bidder must show evidence that it is licensed under Chapter 87 of the N.C. General Statutes and the City reserves the right to request additional bidder qualifications as needed. Pursuant to General Statues of North Carolina Section 143-128 and 143-131 and to City policy, the City of Raleigh encourages and provides equal opportunity for Certified Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) businesses to participate in all aspects of the City's contracting and procurement programs to include - Professional Services; Goods and Other Services; and Construction. The prime contractor will be required to identify participation of MWBE businesses in their proposal, and how that participation will be achieved. Furthermore, the City's goal is to contract or sub-contract fifteen percent (15%) of the contract amount to Certified MWBEs on construction projects over $300,000, or with contracts that include $100,000 or more in state funding (Note this project has no state funding). The goal breakdown is 8% for minorities and 7% for non-minority females. The Owner reserves the right to reject any Proposal for failure to comply with all requirements of this Notice or of any of the Contract Documents; however, the Owner may waive any minor defects or informalities at its discretion. The Owner further reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals or to Award the contract which in its judgement is in the best interest of the Owner. 1. Site development including existing building demolition, tree removal, grading, utility connections, and paving. 2. Concrete floor slab and foundations. 3. Cast-in-place concrete retaining wall. 4. Pre-engineered metal building with exterior metal wall and roof panels on steel building frame. 5. Thermal and moisture protection systems. 6. Exterior and interior doors, frames, and hardware. 7. Exterior and interior finishes. 8. Plumbing systems including distribution, sewerage, drainage and vent piping, plumbing fixtures, and equipment. 9. Mechanical systems. 10. Electrical power and lighting systems.
