Demolition and complete removal of the municipal gymnasium. Includes razing the existing 30' tall masonry structure, capping off all utilities in accordance with county specifications, salvage of all recyclable materials, removal of all debris, grading and restoration of project site with clean backfill, topsoil and seed. Project also includes provision of all required permits, soil erosion and sediment control. Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount at least equal to the Contract Price, as security for the faithful performance and payment of all of Contractor's obligations under the Contract Project Location: Borough of Dormont a. Municipal Building Lot at 1444 Hillsdale Avenue The maintenance bond shall be in an amount equal to 50% of the final contract value for a period of two (2) years, unless otherwise specified in the project specifications. The Work will be substantially completed within SIXTY (60) calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run as provided in Paragraph 2.03 of the General Conditions and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions within NINTY (90) calendar days. Proposals shall be delivered in a sealed envelope and clearly marked on the outside with the words, GYMNASIUM DEMOLITION PROJECT. No Bidder may withdraw his Proposal during the sixty (60) day period without forfeiting his Proposal guarantee. The CONTRACTOR has included herewith Surety Bonds each by a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania and each in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the Contract Price, said Bonds to be executed on the forms provided as follows. An additional $10.00 will be required for each set of plans if they are to be mailed. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, along with Public Liability and Property Damage Certificates of Insurance in the amounts specified, as well as Certificates of Workmans Compensation must be filed with the executed Agreements. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wages must be paid on this contract. Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidders Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of the Borough of Dormont in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal as a guarantee that, if the Proposal is accepted, the successful Bidder will enter into an Agreement within 15 days after Notice of the Award of the Contract. Contractor must also submit a completed Non-Collusion Affidavit with their bid or the bid will be considered non-responsive. The Owner reserves the right to award based upon any combination of the base bid and the alternates; and reject any or all Proposals, or any part thereof, for any reason; and reserves the right to waive any informality therein. The Contracts will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
