Radnor Township is soliciting bids for the replacement of the culvert that carries Foxes Run under Malin Road. Included will be the removal of the existing culvert (two 72 steel riveted pipes), the installation of a pre-cast concrete box culvert and cast in place concrete wingwalls, installation of rip rap at culvert inlet and outlet, erosion and sediment control, landscape restoration, and all associated work. Radnor Township reserves the right to add or delete portions of work based on budgetary constraints. The award date for this project is tentatively scheduled for Monday, March 28, 2022. The project must be completed no later than 180 days after notice to proceed. The Township will not accept bids from any firm/corporation that are currently in litigation with the Township. This is a prevailing wage project. In the event of a delay to the project completion terms as per the Schedule for which Contractor is solely responsible, Contractor shall pay Liquidated Damages to Radnor Township at a rate of $880 per day of delay for every day beyond the 180 days for allowed for project completion. A bid security in the amount of ten percent of the total bid is required. Bid security shall be in the form of either a Bond issued by a corporate surety approved by the Secretary of Insurance to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or a certified check or an Irrevocable Letter of Credit issued by a bank licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Township Board of Commissioners reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all proposals, or parts thereof, for any cause permitted by law, as it deems in the best interest of the Township. The standard under which bids will be evaluated and other bid requirements and instructions to bidders are included in the bid package.
