Questions regarding the ITB process should be directed in writing to the Purchasing Manager via email at purchasing@brookhavenga.gov. Only questions received prior to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019, will be considered. Project will construct intersection improvements at Montgomery Elementary School by installing a right turn lane on northbound Ashford Dunwoody Road into the school entrance, upgrading the existing traffic signal at the school exit, and upgrading to the pedestrian crossings at the school exit and at Chaucer Lane. The crossing of Ashford Dunwoody at Chaucer Lane will include a pedestrian refuge island and installation of the Ashford Dunwoody multiuse path between Oconee Pass and Brenton Way. Coordination will occur with Georgia Power Company representatives to install twenty-four pedestrian scale lighting as part of the streetscape to also include benches and trash receptacles. Each bid must be accompanied with a BID BOND (bond only: certified checks or other forms are not acceptable) in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid, payable to the City of Brookhaven. The Successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a bond for the faithful performance on the contract and a bond to secure payment of all claims for materials furnished and/or labor performed in performance of the project, both in amounts equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price The Successful Bidder shall also be required to furnish a Maintenance Bond, in the amount of one-third (1/3) of the contract price, guaranteeing the repair or replacement caused by defective workmanship or materials for a period of one (1) year from the completion of construction.
