Reconstruction of Honoré-Mercier bridge over the St. Lawrence River located on Route 138 between the City of Montreal and Kahnawake, part of the administrative regions of Montreal and Montérégie. The project aims to maintain the inter-shore link between the island of Montreal and the west of the Montérégie region along the axis of Route 138. The project involves replacing the structures that accommodates the traffic lanes in the direction of the South Shore. This structure was commissioned in 1934 and has reached its useful life. The replacement will make it possible to recover the full functionality of the bridge and the sidewalk in addition to ensuring the connection of the multipurpose path on either side of the structure. TIMELINE: The project is included in the Plan québécois des infrastructures 2021-2031 (Quebec Infrastructure Plan 2021-2031). Working drawings are complete. The owner has not accepted any of bids submitted for the tender for general contractor 2503-21-0210, cancelled it and is preparing documents for a new tender anticipated in late 2023/early 2024. Further update at that time.
