The Elizabethtown Borough Volute Dewatering Press Project will include: - removal, storage and reinstallation of certain components; - removal, storage, modification and installation of walkways and stairs; - removal of existing belt filter press, demolition of existing press support pillars and preparation of site for installation; - installation of the new Volute Dewatering Press including electrical and plumbing connections; - installation of the new polymer system; and, - removal and either modification or fabrication of a new polymer totes base; and, - installation of new polymer totes base. Specific tasks to be completed by the Contractor and Elizabethtown Borough are outlined in the Special Provision section. All installation work is to be completed as outlined in the Process Wastewater Technologies (PW Tech) design and installation manual(s). And, it will be the contractor's responsibility to field verify measurements before modifying/fabricating and installing material. If more than one proposal on any project is submitted by any individual, firm or partnership, corporation or association under the same or different names, only one lowest proposal will be considered. Payment and Performance bonds are provided only by the successful bidder. Contracts under $5,000 - bonds must be in 50% of the contract amount. Contracts in excess of $5,000 - bonds must be in 100% of the amount of contract. Bonds and Workmens Compensation certificate must be submitted by the successful bidder within 20 days of the contract award. Failure to submit the certificate or bond shall constitute grounds to cancel the contract. An ESCALATOR CLAUSE, if used, must be included in the proposal prepared by the municipality. An escalator clause may not be inserted by the contractor. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and reserves the right to waive all informalities in bids received.
