As of November 20th, 2018 an official groundbreaking took place November 19th, 2018. The anticipated start of construction is anticipated for October. They do not know at this point when actual “digging” will start. The project completion should be the fall of 2020. A1. The installation of a 5.63 acre foot detention basin facility in the vicinity of Kostner Avenue and 147th Street in Midlothian, IL. A2. The removal of existing and installation of a new culvert to increase the hydraulic capacity of Natalie Creek in Midlothian, ILat 149th Street and Kilpatrick Avenue. A3. The removal of existing and installation of a new culvert to increase the hydraulic capacity of Natalie Creek in Midlothian, IL at Kenton Avenue. A4. The removal of existing and installation of a new culvert to increase the hydraulic capacity of Natalie Creek in Midlothian, IL at Kolmar Avenue. A5. The removal of existing and installation of a new culvert to increase the hydraulic capacity of Natalie Creek in Midlothian, IL at Kilbourn Avenue. A6. The removal of existing andinstallation of a new culvert to increase the hydraulic capacity of Natalie Creek in Midlothian, IL at Kostner Avenue. A7. The modification of an existing concrete channel and detention basin at 149th Street and Kilpatrick Avenue in Midlothian, IL. A8. Various channel modifications such as the installation of bank stabilization/erosion control elements, creek reshaping and/or widening, as well as miscellaneous, selective clearing and grubbing of vegetative brush, trees, and/or associated material within the project limits of Natalie Creek in Midlothianand Oak Forest,IL. A9. The removal and the installation of a new, low to no maintenance, flow efficient outfall grate for the inlet to the Pulaski Road Diversion Conduit located at 146th Street and Pulaski in Midlothian, IL. A10. Sediment removal and Wing Wall repairs at the Laporte and LaCrosse Avenue Culverts in Oak Forest, IL. The project site limits along Natalie Creek start at the north end (between Natalie Drive and Long Avenue) of Central ParkDetention Basin in the City of Oak Forest and extends to 146th Street and Pulaski Road in the Village of Midlothian, County of Cook, State of Illinois. The creek runs from the southwest (Oak Forest) to the northeast (Midlothian) with private properties located on both sides of its banks. The estimated cost of the work under Contract 14-252-5Frangesbetween $7,190,938.55to $8,704,820.35. The District assumes no responsibility for documents sent through the mail. Further, the District assumes no liability or responsibility for the failure or inability of any Bidder to successfully download any and all contract documents, including but not limited to specifications, proposal forms and/or plans, as a result of any type of technological computer and/or software system failure or breakdown that restricts, prohibits or prevents successful downloading of any and all District contract documents by the Bidder, whether caused by the District or other parties, directly or indirectly. THE BID DEPOSIT FOR THIS PROPOSAL IS: Three Hundred Three Thousand Dollars, ($303,000.00). Prior to award of the contract, the lowest responsible bidder must demonstrate compliance with the District's 2017 Multi-Project LaborAgreement by submitting to the Director of Procurement and Materials Management a signed Certification of Compliance with 2017 Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA). The Agreement and Certificate of Compliance are contained in the Contract Documents. The bid money value of all materials purchased directly by the Contractor, together with the bid money value of all work performed by personnel and facilities provided directly by the Contractor, shall not be less than 20%of the money value of all work performed under this Contract. Any bid money value of work performed by the Subcontractors for work on the job site utilizing Subcontractors' materials, labor and facilities cannot be included in the percent of work to be completed by the Contractor. The Engineer for this contract is CEDRIC ROBERTSON.This Engineer will provide online responses to online inquiries. All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq.) Plans and specifications will not be mailed to firms located in Cook County. The contract documents can be forwarded to bidders outside Cook County via air freight arranged by the District and billed to the Contractor. Specifications, proposal forms and/or plans may also be downloaded online from the District's website, www.mwrd.org. No fee is required for the contract documents if they are downloaded online. The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
