Jennings House Remediation and Remodel. The Village of Schaumburg owns a historic property located at 202 Civic Drive, that is known as the "Jennings House." This property is rented by Shelter Incorporated to house at risk youth. The property requires remediation of asbestos, lead paint, and miscellaneous other hazards that will require the use of outside contractors. Additionally, restoration services for all affected remediation areas and a bathroom remodel will be part of this project. All residents will be relocated by the Village prior to any work commencement by the general contractor. This project is partially funded using Community Development Block Grant funding and is subject to HUD compliance requirements, including but not limited to prevailing wage requirements. See attached Special Provisions of HUD compliance requirements. Additionally, all work is required to be completed by May 15, 2025 to meet the CDBG reporting deadlines. All questions regarding this Legal Notice and the actual bid specifications shall be submitted in writing through electronically on or before, Friday, September 27, 2024 by 12:00 pm. The Village of Schaumburg reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any technicalities, discrepancies, or information in the bids. The Village of Schaumburg does not discriminate in admission, access to, treatment, or employment in its programs and activities. The only opportunity for subcontractors to walk the site and investigate is during the prebid meeting. No other site meetings will be scheduled for bidders. The successful Bidder and their subcontractor(s) must be licensed with the Village and shall obtain all required building permits prior to the start of any work. The Village will waive applicable Village permit fees for the specific contract.
