The Town of Lewisville is seeking proposals for its 2024 Fall Roadway Maintenance project, which will consist of crack sealing and speed hump maintenance in several locations around Lewisville. Proposals are being requested instead of bids to give the contractor flexibility in timing and process, and to give the Town flexibility in producing the desired outcome. The project site list is divided into neighborhood groups to give the contractor concentrated areas within which to efficiently work. Each group should be priced separately. The Town will not pick and choose streets from within any individual group to be removed, but the Town does reserve the right to omit entire neighborhood sections from the eventual scope of services in order to fit budgetary constraints. Each proposal should include a product submittal for the recommended sealant to be used, as well as a detailed description of the contractor's preferred process. The product must be NCDOT approved and the submittal will be used by Town Staff to determine performance guidelines in the eventual contract such as temperature of application, minimum surface temperature, minimum/maximum crack width, traffic restoration time, etc. For crack sealing, a 1.5"-2" overband application followed by squeegee leveling is preferred but not mandatory if the contractor convincingly proposes another technique. Proposal format is contractor's choice but calculated quantities should be included in pricing and detail is appreciated. Speed humps should be sealed and otherwise repaired as needed, then re-striped with a NCDOT approved product back to original pattern. The timing of the services provided can be flexible but must be completed by December 31, 2024. The contractor is responsible for all traffic control, resident accommodation, and cleanup. Clean, professional application is mandatory and the work must be warrantied for a period of two years from project completion.
