The Town of Amherst invites sealed bids for a consultant to provide professional services to conduct a comprehensive and detailed study of the former S. Amherst School building and site. The Town of Amherst is seeking the services of a qualified consultant to provide professional services to conduct a comprehensive and detailed study of the former South Amherst School Building and Site located at 1001 South East Street, Amherst, MA for the purpose of redeveloping the property for affordable housing units on the Town-owned property. All questions shall be e-mailed to Simone Cristofori at cristoforis@amherstma.gov. Section 2: Scope of Services The scope of services is outlined in detail below by task. In general, the Town is interested in working with a Firm to review the existing site conditions, manage and conduct a public discussion, develop site and building design concepts that include a narrative, graphics, and presentation materials. Firms are encouraged to demonstrate experience with industry expertise and bring creative ideas tested elsewhere to help the process and for future development of a design that will work well for the intended use. The Town would like the process to begin within 90 days and completed within 180 days of the kickoff meeting. The project schedule should provide sufficient time for a public process, development of deliverables and notice for various meetings. The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible consultant offering the complete scope of services at the lowest price. The Town of Amherst reserves the right to reject any and all quotes in whole or in part, and to waive informalities, when at its sole discretion is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town and to the extent permitted by law.
